St Gilbert's win the U11 Boys Cross Country

On Wednesday, a group of children went to Witham Hall school to compete in a cross country race.  In the first race, the U9 mixed race, Natalie managed to keep up with the leaders until half way then found the pace quite hot.  Although she finished 18th overall, she was the 4th girl home so a great result.  Our other runner in the race was Jack who entertained the onlookers with hi-fives and waves to all supporters.  Jack finished a creditable 52nd.

In the girls U11 race, the competition was stiff and the girls found the pace fast.  Milly was first home in 12th place which is a great result considering she would have been one of the younger runners.  Steph came home next in 32nd after pacing herself all the way round.  Jamie finished her first race in 36th place followed closely by a red faced Sophie in 37th.  Well done to all the girls.

Lastly, the U11 Boys race was run at an extrememly fast pace.  All 5 runners paced themselves well and the school ended up with 4 of them in the top ten.  Sean 3rd and Gabe 6th both won medals for the individual event and with Charlie 8th, Leo 10th and Kieran 28th, we managed to win the team title.  So a huge congratulations to the boys and well done to all who took part.
